GITA CHAPTER 11: VISHWAROOP DARSHAN YOG
Synopsis
In this chapter, Arjuna desired to see Krishna’s Vishwaroop (divine form).
Arjuna could see the entire Universe in Krishna’s form, which ascertained Krishna’s omnipresence.
This divine form was the most kept secret that was unknown to anyone until Krishna decides to display it to Arjuna on the battlefield.
Relevance
We have no control over destiny. Whatever has to happen will happen. Krishna demonstrated to Arjuna that irrespective of whether he fights the war or not, kills his friends/family or not, they all eventually will die and will get immersed into Krishna finally. Arjuna is not the cause of their death. So we should not think about the cause and effect and keep doing our duties.
Arjuna couldn’t see Krishna’s divine form with his ordinary mortal eyes. Hence, Krishna provided divine sight to Arjuna to experience his divine form.
Krishna’s divine form was similar to hundreds of Sun together in the sky.
We all are part of Krishna. Hence Arjuna saw every mortal life in Krishna’s divine form. The whole universe accumulated in Krishna’s form.
Arjuna was astonished to see Krishna’s enormous divine form.
Arjuna saw multiple faces, multiple eyes, numerous ornaments, various weapons, various bodies, multiple divine odors as boundary-less, enormous divine Krishna’s form
Arjuna could see all beings in Krishna’s form- Multiple heads, bodies, snakes, cows, lions, eagles, sages, poets, saints, mountains, peaks, fire, ocean, river, Yama, Kuber, Chitrarath, Shankar, Rama, Vishnu, Shukracharya, Gandharv, Raksha, eleven Rudra, two Ashwin twins, twelve Aditi sons, eight Vasu, space, time, Sun, Moon, etc.
Krishna’s form was boundary-less. His various hands carried Sudarshan Chakra. The light-emitted was very bright.
The world is distributed into the earth, air, and sky. Krishna’s divine form encapsulated all three spaces and spread across limitlessly.
Krishna’s presence is everywhere. Every soul, all sages, and Gods are immersed in Krishna’s divine form.
Krishna’s form was frightening to decipher through ordinary capacity.
Krishna’s form was illuminated.
Krishna’s form was so huge that instead of feeling peaceful, Arjun was scared and frightened.
Kauravas, Bhishma, Karna, etc., could be seen in Krishna’s mouth (half ate).
Hundreds of warriors entered Krishna’s mouth. Krishna exhibited this cruel form to Arjun to iterate that ultimately everything ends in Krishna.
Every man ran into Krishna’s mouth like a moth, falls prey to light, and dies.
Krishna lapped everything with his hot tongue. Krishna’s mouth emitted fire and destroyed everything.
It was unbearable for Arjuna to see this cruel form that Krishna displayed to him.
Krishna explained that he is the destroyer and that the entire universe would end irrespective of anything.
Krishna is in every atom.
Krishna is the originator and destructor.
Krishna’s form is indescribable.
Krishna is both conscious and unconscious states.
Krishna is the Universe.
Krishna is impactful.
You can’t change the destination. Whatever has to happen will happen.
You are only a cause that has to perform the actions. Destiny wouldn’t change if you do or don’t do anything.
Arjuna finally understood Krishna. He realized that Krishna was beyond the human form that he had experienced until now.
Our science and knowledge are limited to worldly matters. The knowledge given in Gita is indispensable and a mystery.
We are still ages behind in understanding the Universe.
Arjuna was speechless after seeing Krishna’s Vishwaroop.
Arjuna, until then, treated Krishna as his friend and his equal. He apologized for not knowing Krishna’s proper divine form.
We should also apologize to those intellectuals and elders we treated as equals or insulted them without knowing their true capability.
Arjuna derived incomparable happiness on seeing Krishna’s Vishwaroopa.
Our world’s pleasures are so small that we can’t comprehend the satisfaction derived from divine understanding.
Krishna says he showed his Vishwaroop through his Yog. We could experience this due to Gita, for which we should be forever grateful.
Krishna’s roop could only be seen through divine sight.
Arjun, who had quit and had given up, had experienced the most beautiful sight in Krishna’s Vishwaroopa. This was because of his inquest that he could obtain this experience. We should also never give up the quest to seek the truth.
Krishna showed his Vishwaroop to discard Arjuna’s ignorance and generate belief about Krishna’s existence (belief in oneself).
Arjuna utilized the opportunity to experience knowledge through his tenacity.
Krishna’s Vishwaroop can be seen only through a pure and innocent heart.
You can see Krishna’s four hands (chaturbhuj) form only through immense devotion.
We can understand Krishna’s true nature only if our mind is steady and calm.
Krishna’s form can be seen only by those who do selfless duties, is devoid of judgment, jealously, etc.
Krishna is the unstoppable force and ultimate protector of the universe.
